Hi,

I’m a firm believer in the saying that “the eyes are the window to the soul” and for a long time I’ve been fascinated with eye and brow shape and how they can affect and change how we look. I’ve never been someone who likes to spend hours applying make-up – I prefer to add some definition which lasts for a few weeks or on a more permanent basis.

So I decided to train in permanent cosmetics with Nouveau Contour, founded by Karen Betts (www.karenbetts.co.uk).  I was interested in being able to create brows for people who, for whatever reason, were lacking hair or shape. I was also intrigued by the notion of being able to create definition around the eye line which doesn’t need to be applied each morning or which would not smudge or run. I’m now a trained, certified Nouveau Contour Permanent Cosmetics Technician.

While attending some Nouveau Contour advanced training days, I spent some time at their Milton Keynes centre which is run by Nilam Patel who has become renowned not only for her expertise in permanent cosmetics, but also for her brow shaping.

Nilam is the creator of the HD Brows technique (www.nilam-patel.co.uk). I was so interested in this technique that I trained as an HD Brow technician. I thought this would extend my knowledge of brow shaping and also provide an alternative to people who are not ready to go straight into permanent cosmetics.
